Sept 2008
Virgin Holidays can confirm that all bookings made with us were completely unaffected by the recent cessation of trading of the XL Leisure Group UK (XLUK). As a fully protected operator in business for over 22 years, guaranteeing our customers' holiday experience has always been our top priority
As an FTO member, Virgin Holidays is working very closely with CAA to support in their efforts to assist XLUK customers who are currently overseas and whose holidays have been affected. We have also sent out a team to Florida to help with the repatriation of affected XLUK customers.
For XLUK customers who were due to travel with Travel City Direct to Florida, we are able to offer the following solutions to speed up the claims process and help them secure alternative holiday options quickly:
Any customer who has booked a holiday with Travel City Direct to Florida that is fully or partially paid by debit card, cash or cheque only, can re-book any holiday with us for travel after 01 January 2009. Virgin Holidays will be able to accept the amount already paid against any new Virgin Holidays' package booked online on receipt of:
- The original booking document showing proof of payment
- A completed CAA/ATOL claim form (download at www.caa.co.uk)
- A note of the new online booking reference
Customers will be able to transfer their balance against any Virgin Holidays' packages to any destination that includes both flights and accommodation.
Customers can check their eligibility and full terms and conditions by following
