Do you dream of hitting the open road on a journey
of adventure?
Enjoy the freedom of a motorhome
(known in the USA as an RV, or recreational vehicle)
as an alternative to our featured city and resort hotels.
For anyone who wants to see California, fly drive holidays open up a whole new range of experience. And you can take that experience to another level again if you think in terms of a motorhome rather than a hire car. A motorhome offers incomparable independence. You can spend as much or as little time in each place as you choose, moving from town to town, from national park to national park, discovering the wonders of this incredible state as you go. You choose where to start your flydrive holiday; California is famous for the coastal route from San Francisco to San Diego, via Los Angeles – but it’s your call. That’s the beauty of fly drive holidays to California – the whole itinerary is in your hands.
And of course, California flydrive holidays are just one option. There are 49 more states to cover – although you probably won’t be aiming to do them all at 1 time! Whatever route you have in mind, you can pick up your vehicle from destinations across North America. At the end of your holiday, you can either take your vehicle back to where you picked it up, or, if you requested a one-way rental, you can leave it at a different destination.
Driver requirements
RVs are available for hire if you are at
least 21 years of age and hold a valid
driver’s licence. There is no charge for
an additional driver. However, they are
required to sign the rental contract.
Security deposits
You are required to leave a US$500
deposit at the time of pick-up for El Monte. The
deposit needs to be guaranteed with
an authorisation on a credit card. This
deposit is automatically released upon
completion of the return contract,
provided the vehicle is returned clean
inside, undamaged and on time.
Familiarisation
When you pick up your
motorhome you will receive a full
orientation of the vehicle, and will be
shown your maintenance and usage
responsibilities. Orientation consists of a
video introducing the concepts
of motorhome use, as well as a personal
walk-around of the motorhome with a
qualified instructor. Operator manuals
are provided.
Maintenance
You are responsible for routine
maintenance whilst travelling (coolant,
oil, tyre pressure) as well as reporting
mechanical failures.
Vehicle support
You are ensured peace of mind with a
dedicated roadside assistance service

Route plan/parking
Remember when planning your route
that parking restrictions will apply;

chance to plan your ultimate holiday.
Also be aware that some destinations are unsuitable for RVs, eg Death Valley.
